I love the human feeling of this, rather than being surreal or a caricature. It is warm and flowing, beautifully painted as is all of your work. Like/ fav

Artist's Description

I have always liked posters.....Toulouse Lautrec-like poster art, travel posters, etc. I guess this painting is more poster-like than most of what I do, but that was my goal here. It couples with my fascination with Venice; its storied history, the canals, the ethereal beauty of it, and, of course, carnival...the masks, the mystery, the romance and the whole ball of wax, so to speak. Anyway, this is sort of my homage to it...enjoy.

About Julie Todd-Cundiff

Julie Todd-Cundiff

I’ve been drawing, since I was just a kid. I liked to copy illustrations from my favorite books and create illustrations for fairy tale books. I also loved to draw cartoon characters. In the 4th grade, I created a comic strip based on myself and my buddies at school. Other than the art projects in grade school, I didn’t get any formal training until High School art classes. I graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Art Education and was an art teacher for a year in upstate New York ( Oneonta). After that, I began a career as a flight attendant for Trans World Airlines. I've been just about everywhere and love travelling, but the best part was being able to see all the great works of art and architecture...
