Description
This is one of a series on which I am currently working. It is based on wall paintings which we viewed while visiting the ruins of the city of Pompeii in Italy. I wanted to capture not only the beauty of them, but the sort of old, faded way they looked, being over 1000 years old, and once covered with lava. I am thinking of these as murals, or wall paintings, but they could be put in to a frame as well. I am fascinated by how old they are, and what a sense of history I feel while working on them. More to come.

I really enjoy both of your Pompeii works Julie, what an experience that must have been and I am taken with the reverence you must have felt seeing their works of art, such a nice sentiment and paintings FAV/L
